Welcome to our New Superintendent!
ImageThe school board chair has directed me to introduce to you the next superintendent of the Buffalo School District, Dr. Eric Ridge II. Dr. Ridge has a wonderful history in education. He has served in school administration since 1976, and was instrumental in founding Mountain Ridge County School in 1981 and then forming the North Platte School District here in Colorado. In addition to holding a bachelor's and a master's degree in education, Dr. Ridge has recently completed doctoral level work in the Superintendent Certificate Program from Stanford University. Dr. Ridge has a long history of involvement with the Association of Colorado Schools (ACS). Presently he is serving as a board member with ACS. He is a popular workshop presenter at the ACS educational conventions, and very involved with the ACS school accreditation program. Dr. Ridge will be completing his present position as Campus Administrator at Dinosaur Springs School in July of this year, and will begin here at BSD shortly thereafter. He has been married for over 30 years, and enjoys football, nutrition, and reading. We are excited that Dr. Ridge will serve as our next superintendent, and trust that you provide him with a very warm BSD welcome! Thanks also goes to our wonderful board of directors for the many hours they gave to locate, interview, and dutifully search for our next superintendent. We have a super group of people serving on our school board.

Not only has the curriculum grown and improved in technology, but also in the area of language arts. Throughout the year, a group of administrators and teachers from both campuses have met to evaluate and review our existing language arts curriculum as a part of our curriculum review cycle. They have closely examined our strengths and identified any weaknesses. Adjustments in the curriculum are being made that will best prepare your children to be skilled in the area of language arts. The process will continue into the next year as we enter the second year of the three year curriculum review cycle. This will include the evaluation of textbooks and the implementation of the new curriculum into the classroom.
