| Superintendent Announces Retirement | ||
![]() Superintendent Eric Ridge has announced his retirement as of July 15, 2009. Eric Ridge came to our school community four years ago when he began his tenure as the BSD superintendent. He helped the school district modernize both facilities and practices while increasing student achievement. Mountainside High School Announcements

On September 8, 2009, school district residents will vote on a bond referendum to build the district's ninth elementary. September 8 is also the date of the Ankeny School Board election. The district's Voter Information Center offers brochures, community forum schedules, links to related sites, and information about how to register and vote.
The Buffalo school system is getting schools in shape for the 2009-2010 school year
During the past two school board meetings, the board has approved spending more than $4.8 million to complete ongoing construction projects and apply fresh paint or lay new carpet and tile at district schools and the central office.
Mountainside High is the most expensive project at about $2.1 million. The school is renovating its restrooms, replacing classroom ceilings and light fixtures and giving the building an overall paint job.
